The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow weather alert for Gurgaon and nearby areas, warning of possible thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hail on October 6 and 7. The alert has been triggered by a fresh western disturbance expected to influence the weather across northwest India.

According to the IMD, this system could bring a sudden change in weather patterns across Delhi-NCR, with moderate rainfall in several parts of Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram. The department has advised residents to take precautions while commuting and to avoid open areas during lightning activity.

Officials added that strong winds reaching 30–40 km/h may sweep across the region, accompanied by a slight dip in daytime temperatures. The weather shift is likely to provide temporary relief from the unseasonably warm conditions prevailing over the past week.

Local authorities have been alerted to ensure drainage systems are functioning properly to prevent waterlogging, especially in low-lying zones of Gurugram. Meanwhile, farmers in Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh have been advised to secure harvested crops and avoid burning stubble during this period due to possible rain and wind.

Meteorologists believe this pattern will gradually subside after October 7, bringing cooler mornings and clearer skies thereafter.
